Similar to all Aderant Marketing materials and communications, internal emails should abide by Aderant brand standards, digital accessibility, and best practices for email design and delivery.
Best Practices
Visual Design and Layout
- Clearly identify it as an official Aderant communication.
When including logos outside the Aderant brand, please make sure these are displayed within the copy of the email. Never display third-party logos at the top (header) or bottom (footer) of the email. Please refrain from using personal social media icons or links, other than what’s already included as part of Aderant’s standard signature. - Make it readable.
Please refer to the guidelines below related to copy text and headings. - Use the right image dimensions.
When it comes to email headers, we recommend a width between 650px to 700px and a height between 90px to 200px. Set width=”100%” if using HTML markup (although discouraged). The Marketing team has provided a set of curated header images that you can include in your communications. For additional guidelines, and how to access these assets, please see the Header Images section below. - Know your limits.
Don’t try to send HTML emails from your desktop Outlook client. Also, keep in mind, forwarding HTML emails that you receive may break formatting. - Give it an Aderant look.
Make sure you give your internal emails the “Aderant” look and feel by adhering to these practices along with Aderant’s brand guidelines listed on this Design site.
Style Guide
Typography (Text)
For internal emails, the suggested font for text is Calibri or Arial which are approved Aderant corporate fonts. This includes header and body text.
When using colored headers and/or text, please use the Aderant Red R179 G8 B56 | HEX B30838
Headers should be bold, sized at 24pt, and consistent throughout the email.
Subheader text (if necessary) is 16pt, bold, and could be black or Aderant Red R179 G8 B56 | HEX B30838
Body/copy text is black (HEX 000000). Additional colors must be used judiciously with the purpose of highlighting specific content.
- 11pt-12pt is recommended for body text, including anything with subheaders.
- Text is left-aligned.
- For internal promotional emails (events, corporate initiatives, etc.) center-aligned text is allowed. If in doubt or need assistance with formatting and/or assets, please check with the Marketing team.
Header Images (Banners)
- The Marketing team has created a set of header images that are available to all Aderant employees. Please refer to the Templates section in the Marketing Hub for additional guidelines and to download these assets.
- We recommend only using approved header images but if you need to create an image outside the banners referenced above, we recommend creating your header image at 700px x 200px and saving it at 72 dpi.
- Always include the header image at the top of your email.
- If you need to include additional images, please make sure the images adhere to Aderant’s brand personality.
- Please refrain from pasting copied content directly from a web page or Microsoft Word as it may contain unnecessary styles and/or HTML markup. If you need to paste content from an external source, please select “Paste and Match Style” from the Outlook Edit menu.
General Images
- Include images using PNG or JPG format.
- Aderant Marketing has provided a curated photo gallery as a good source for photography that meets brand requirements. Go to the Marketing Hub to access these assets.
- If you need to include logos/lockups of Aderant products, you can find these in the Logos section of this Design site.
- Please refrain from copying and pasting logos directly from the web as it may be copyright infringement. The same applies to images copied from the web. If you have a need for images outside the ones available, please contact the Marketing team.
Background
The internal email background should be white and full-width. Please refrain from adding busy backgrounds or other design elements that don’t represent the Aderant brand.
Signatures
Standard email signatures are automatically added by Aderant’s email platform. Please contact the Aderant IT team for additional information.
